It now includes the BlindShell app catalog with many optional applications such as What’s App and YouTube, NFC object tagging, internet browser and assistive tools such as screen reader and magnifier. The BlindShell Classic 2 is full of fun and useful functions and smart features, but you don’t have to use all of them. BlindShell allows you to customise the applications and tools that you want to use only, which makes it simple and intuitive to operate.

Please note

This 4G phone is unlocked and not linked to any particular carrier/service provider. It requires a single Micro SIM and does NOT come with one.

The voice control capabilities on the BlindShell Classic 2 is limited to the following simple commands dialling a contact or phone number, launch an application or dictate a text message. It does not have the full personal assistant feature that a smart phone (e.g. Apple or Android) offers i.e. Siri or Google Assistant.

To ensure that your BlindShell phone does not get impacted during the 3G network switch off, we recommend that you install the system update 5.1.8.4 which was released at the end of February 2024. To perform this system update, ensure the phone is connected to a wi-fi network, then go into the "Settings" menu and select "BlindShell Update." Check for updates and follow the prompts. BlindShell has advised that your contacts list and previous messages will not be affected.

A flip case is available for this phone, opening from the side with a magnetic closure for secure but easy one-handed use. It comes in two in-store-only colors: black (ES0416) or red (ES0417).
